Ola is a film about health, hope, and the power of communities to heal themselves.

A timely and emotional debut documentary that celebrates Hawai‘i’s most cherished social values, the film challenges us to rethink what it means to be healthy. Ola (Hawaiian for "life" or "well being") explores the widespread social factors that affect our ability to create thriving, sustainable communities. Since its premiere at the Hawai‘i International Film Festival in 2013, this powerful and inspirational film has spawned a movement to energize our communities and create a healthier future for all.

‘Ike: KNOWLEDGE IS EVERYWHERE

A love letter to the future

‘Ike is a film about the power of compassion, collaboration, and community to address society’s most pressing social issues.

The feature-length documentary explores the challenges and triumphs of the education system in Hawai‘i and - in the spirit of its prequel (Ola - Health is Everything) - offers an intimate portrait of brave individuals lighting the fires of knowledge for others in their communities.

The film screened over 200 times across the country and was broadcast on PBS Hawai‘i. A special edition of PBS Insights also delved into the deeper questions raised by the film.
